I did all of my research and read a ton of reviews before making the plunge. Overall, I am really glad I made this purchase over Ring and all other brands. I also installed the Skybell wedge mount to adjust my view by increasing the angle by 10-20% because my doorbell is installed from the side of my door and does not point straight out. They provide you with free cloud storage (I believe it is 7 days worth) and allow you to download the videos with no additional charges. In addition to showing you who is at your door when someone presses the button, SkyBell allows you to monitor your front door at any time with the Watch Live feature. We call it a Smart video doorbell for a reason. Slight delay from notification to phone but I can’t complain because there are no monthly fees associated with this product. The SkyBell HD video doorbell is redefining what home security can be in a connected world.

Notifications work great on both iOS and Android phones. It does not use black and white night vision which is great! Audio quality is good. Very nice quality camera with 100% color for both day and night in whatever HD choice you want - 480P, 720P, or 1080P. Download the app and it walks you through each step.

I’ve been using this for the past month now. Skybell HD - Great wired HD wifi doorbell! Although I only gave SkyBell 3 stars, it's proven much more reliable than Ring, which I gave 1 star (I would have given Ring zero stars if that was possible). Better image quality, and reliable, timely notifications. Cloud service is sparse, the mobile app is wonky and feature-poor, and customer service is excruciatingly slow, taking over a week to reply to a simple inquiry.Īll that said, the most elegant software won't make up for a device that isn't reliable, and this is where SkyBell beats Ring. Where SkyBell falls short is in their software. In the 30 days I've had SkyBell online I have never had a failed connection, and it usually only takes a couple of seconds to establish Live View.

Sometimes it takes the Ring Pro 20 to 30 sec onds or more to connect a Live View to the device, frequently just timing out, unable to connect at all. SkyBell has functioned quite reliably on my 1.5mbps. I purchased a SkyBell and had it installed before I even received a tracking number from Ring. They replaced it free of charge, but it took 2 weeks to do so.

The final death knel for Ring was when a forced firmware update bricked the device. Ring, in order to function reliably, requires a minimum 4mbps upstream data speed (despite their published system requirement stating 1mbps minimum).

The reason I replaced the Ring was because of their ridiculous network speed requirement. SkyBell has much better image quality than the Ring, but Ring's mobile app and cloud service is superior. I switched to SkyBell HD after spending about 5 months with a Ring Pro HD. Better image quality than Ring, terrible app, slow customer service
